Album · 2008 · 18 Songs. With some distance from the brilliant thrashing of their early days, The Replacements offered a slick, polished sixth album. Talent Show is as straightforward of a pop song as the band ever made, with bouncy percussion and a catchy chorus; They’re Blind delivers a Replacements-style ballad, meaning the instruments are swelling and the emotion is raw. At the core of Back to Back is a surprising key shift wrapped in lush melodies and clean vocals.

Tim is the fourth studio album by American alternative rock band The Replacements. It was released in October 1985 on Sire Records. It was their first major label release and also the last album made by the original line-up of the band: guitarist Bob Stinson was kicked out of the band towards the end of 1986. Like its predecessors, Tim achieved moderate mainstream commercial success despite critical acclaim

All Shook Down is the seventh and final studio album by the American rock band The Replacements, released on September 25, 1990 by Sire Records. This album was originally intended to be front man Paul Westerberg's solo artist debut. His management talked him into doing it as a Replacements album before the recording started. As a result of its initial intent, All Shook Down is marked by numerous session, side and journeyman musicians, in addition to the three other Replacements.

Best album I have ever heard and owned. First heard it in 1989. Love listening to this album on vinyl.

Don’t Tell a Soul is a clear fracture point for the band. It was to be the first album recorded without any input from Bob Stinton, the band’s longtime lead guitarist, fired from the group for a drinking problem that could no longer be contained. Replaced by Slim Dunlap, an able friend of the band who lacked the n energy of his predecessor’s guitar solos (One wonders what Stinton could have done with a song like I Won’t ). Without another major songwriting influence to write around, Westerberg was free to follow his muse to his eventual singer-songwriter destination
