Thriller is the third full-length album by Lambchop, released in 1997. The album title was chosen as a reference to the Michael Jackson album of the same name, one of the biggest-selling albums of all time, as an in-joke by frontman Kurt Wagner regarding the low sales of the first two Lambchop albums. The track "Your Fucking Sunny Day" was released as a single from the album in a re-recorded "clean" version, under the title "Your Sucking Funny Day".
The Nashville-based Lambchop "is and has been" almost two-dozen different members with a discography that boasts something like 23 cassettes, singles, EPs, and full-lengths, as well as numerous one-off appearances on compilations, best-of collections, and the like. It's fairly safe to say, then, that Tools in the Dryer - unlike most odds-and-ends collections - isn't entirely uncalled for. In fact, for fans of the prolific band, a collection of 16 "A-sides, B-sides, live tracks, and remixes" is downright appreciated.
Tools in the Dryer is a 2001 album by Lambchop. It compiles rarities from across the band's career, including early demos and live performances. By 2012, the label had released more than 450 releases. Each item in the list includes the artist, the release name, the release medium or media, and (in most cases) the release date.

Lambchop, originally Posterchild, is an American band from Nashville, Tennessee. Lambchop is loosely associated with the alternative country genre Never a band with a "core" lineup, Lambchop has consisted of a large and fluid collective of musicians focused around its creative centre, frontman Kurt Wagner. Whatever the style, the characteristic mood of Lambchop's music is evoked by Wagner's distinctive songwriting: lyrically subtle and ambiguous, the vocals melodic but understated. American Songwriter described Wagner's lyrics as "witty and deeply insightful. 2001 Tools in the Dryer. 2006 The Decline of the Country and Western Civilization (1993-1999). 2006 The Decline of Country and Western Civilization, Part 2: The Woodwind Years.

A collection of B-sides and other various songs that were never released on an album should not make a "best of in a year" complimation. However, this one is just too good. Not as good as last years masterpiece, Nixon, but it's not supposed to be either.
